Our facility includes lights inside each of our drive-up storage units. However, electricity is not provided within the storage units themselves. For temporary use, customers can find power outlets located on the exterior of the buildings while accessing their units. This setup allows you to use power as needed during visits without the risk of continuous electrical use inside the units, ensuring safety and convenience. Whether you need to charge a device or use electrical tools briefly, these exterior outlets offer a practical solution.
Storing batteries in a storage unit
Storing batteries in a storage unit requires careful attention to safety and environmental factors to ensure they remain in good condition. Here are some essential guidelines:
Preparation
- Clean and Inspect Batteries: Ensure batteries are clean and free from corrosion or leaks before storage.
- Charge Batteries: Charge rechargeable batteries to about 50-70% capacity before storing to prolong their lifespan.
Storage Environment
- Cool, Dry Place: Store batteries in a cool, dry place to prevent heat and moisture damage. Avoid areas with high humidity or temperature fluctuations.
- Temperature Control: If possible, use a climate-controlled storage unit to maintain a stable temperature, ideally between 50°F (10°C) and 77°F (25°C).
Safety Measures
- Separate Storage: Store batteries separately in their original packaging or in individual plastic bags to prevent contact with other batteries or metal objects, which can cause short-circuiting.
- Use Battery Cases: For extra protection, use battery storage cases to keep them organized and prevent accidental discharge.
